Terry Pile
Terry is a creative and versatile career counselor and coach specializing in helping people find the work they love. She has extensive experience in government, corporate, non-profit and entrepreneurial settings. In addition to her private practice, Terry serves as a career consultant for The JANUS Group LLC. She also worked as a career counselor at the University of Washington MBA Career Center. She has a breadth and depth of knowledge of career methodologies at many levels.
An innovative trainer and empathetic coach, Terry's areas of effectiveness include one-on-one and small group career development and outplacement counseling. She specializes in working with individuals in career transition, particularly career changers.
Prior to starting her own career counseling practice, Terry worked as director of public relations/marketing for a local health care system and account executive at Ogilvy & Mather, an international communications company. She was the owner of Page One Public Relations, a consulting firm for small businesses. She has also taught in public schools and community colleges.
Terry has a master's degree in education from Indiana University and a certificate in career development from the University of Washington. She is qualified to administer and interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and other assessments. In addition, Terry writes a monthly column titled "On Career" for the Mercer Island Reporter. A partial client list includes Auto Warehouse, Northwest Fisheries Science Center, Bellevue Community College, the Employment Security Department and WorkSource.
